I'm in a Rut! Big Time!!

Curious…what gets you moving in the morning?

I feel like every couple of years this answer changes for me. Maybe you too?

Waking up my kids this morning reminded me of my younger days. I was an 80s/90s teen and I couldn’t wait for my mom to be my alarm. Back then it took me 45 minutes to do my hair…I’m NOT kidding! And I needed to get my own booty out of bed super early, to get into the one bathroom we all shared each morning.

Since you know me now and know I have super straight hair, you’re probably wondering how I even survived the 80s. Well I’ll tell you.

A ridiculous amount of dedication and hairspray!

And I was completely committed to staying on trend with my permed curls and sky high bangs.

I look back now and yes, I laugh but I also realize I have always been a woman of conviction. I set my mind to what I want and I do what it takes to get there…

…sometimes.

Yeah, you heard me right. Sometimes. And sometimes I get discouraged by the unknown, procrastinate and get absolute no where, except lost in my own head & thoughts.

The only thing that saves me is knowing I’m not alone. And if I got myself out of a rut once, I can do it again.

So here I am. Pulling myself out of a funk and reaching out. Putting myself out there. Talking to others about what’s in my head and coming up with ways to make those things happen.

First stop…turning up the music and preparing for a dance fitness class series, starting in a couple of weeks. (details below, if you want to join us)

The actual prep began just after the New Year when I started to talk to friends, co-workers and family about wanting to teach dance again.

And that one small act got things in motion.

So a universal shout out to those who listened, gave advice and have always been supportive. Thank you!

Now…I’m here to do the same for you. Have you been wanting to change things up? Did you set a New Year’s goal, but haven’t taken steps toward that goal yet?

You name it. Whether it’s small or BIG, put yourself out there. Start to navigate the possibilities and get yourself moving in the right direction.

Love,
Janine

P.S. for sh*ts & giggles, here is a pic of me way back when. This is dedication staring you in the face. LOL!!! And if my hair could survive the 80s, you can definitely reached any goal you set your mind to.
