Motherhood is messy.
Which took this perfectionist mama a long time to admit.
But it’s hard when princesses, like Meghan Markle, have a baby and 48 hours later look spectacular.
Psst...just in case you didn't get the memo, she doesn't look like that all on her own.
We sometimes forget they have a royal staff taking care of them.
Hopefully we all have family, friends & a support system around us when we need it, but for the day to day grind it can get down right nutty.
We're so busy taking care of everyone else we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves.
I met up with my good friends, Amy & Jamie for coffee this past week. And no, they're not made up names nor ryhming for any other reason than to mess with me, 4 years ago when I first met them on the playground & worried I'd mix it up.
Anyway...the subject came up of why Jaime started running again and it isn't to fit into a bikini this summer.
It's to clear her head.
For Jamie, it's hitting the pavement that makes her ready to tackle the day, helps her focus on the important things and feel closer to herself.
For me, it's teaching, dancing & practicing yoga.
We remember on weekends like this how special we are and even let people pamper us for the day. But what about on the daily?
Can we do a better job?
Not mothering! That you're doing amazing at, even if you don't think so.
But how about taking care of ourselves?...I think we can do better.
So join Jamie & I in finding something that helps clear your head and make you feel closer to yourself because...

P.S. Sharing some mommy pics that I've nixed in the past because they didn't have the right light, I just woke up, I hate my hair, the girls aren't smiling, etc because... it REALLY is a messy job and the imperfection of it all really does make it beautiful inside & out.
