We’re only 3 weeks into 2020 & you may be getting in your own way.
My students came into class on Thursday morning, moaning and groaning because they were still feeling the past couple of workouts in their bodies. But I will tell you...the best thing they did was come back to class.
Now safety is always first. So if you think you may injury yourself, of course you want to make an adjustment in your plan. But...
If it’s your thoughts being hijacked by negative mojo like “That was too tough for me" or "There’s no way I’m going back, I’m not strong enough", or worse "I’m so out of shape, I’ll never keep up.", then...
I want you to get out of your head & get into your body.
Embrace the soreness. It’s a sign you woke up your muscles. Be proud to walk a little funny up the stairs. And laugh when you go to stand up, from sitting on the toilet, and those legs are burning.
This too shall pass...but if you stop now, you’ll have to start all over again in the near future. Mostly because I’m not going to let you sit on your butt all winter.
More importantly, because
Your body is meant to move.
It craves it.
It can’t live without it.
So...stay the course.
This is a positive change, which will lessen in intensity and eventually spark a playful energy & a boost in your confidence. But it's super important to ride this wave of uncomfortability to get to this happier place. And...
You deserve all the happiness in the world.
