I’m in the throes of it.
Spring cleaning. I love it & I hate it.
It’s like exercising. You know once you’ve checked it off your list, it’s going to feel great. But getting motivated can sometimes be challenging.
So to keep it manageable, knowing if I tried to get it all done in one day I'd get discouraged, I decided to take it in baby steps starting with my car this past weekend. And all I can say is…WOW! I didn’t realize how bad it had gotten.
All winter I was doing the minimum. Taking the trash out daily-ish and de-cluttering the “way back”, as we call it. But when I got in there, doing yoga acrobatics like a contortionist to get into every nook and cranny, what I found was just Gross with a caption G!
Wrappers, objects we gave up looking for months ago, crumbs, lots of crumbs and sticky stuff. Yep, we’re just going to leave it at sticky stuff. (My apologizes, if you have a weak stomach. I should’ve warned you before starting this conversation). But…it’s done.
It may have taken a few hours, as I tried to have the kids help and then the perfectionist within me wound up doing those sections again. But it’s finished. And it feels AMAZING!!
Ha…it really is like exercise isn’t it?!?
One minute you’re doing some never ending reps of squats, thinking “when is she (that’s me) going to stop”. Feeling like you’ll never make it to the end of class and then… S-U-R-P-R-I-S-E! YOU DID IT!!
You’ve brushed off the cobwebs. Got those joints moving. And you feel exhausted but GREAT at the same time!
I have know idea way but the song "Shake it off, oh oh, shake it off" is now playing in my mind. Maybe it's the thought of cobwebs, ick-k-k-k.
Well whatever it is, we'll be doing lots of shakin' in the weeks to come as I'm excited to announce we have one more cardio dance series coming your way and just in time before the kiddo's end of school craziness. (details below)
Closet clean out is next. So wish me luck. And if you have any helpful tips for spring cleaning, email me. I can use all the help I can get!
